Giveaway – Win Tickets to the Knitting and Stitching Show!

I enter a lot of competitions, but blog giveaways are amongst my favourite type. The odds of winning are higher than almost any other online competition, and the prizes, whilst not always huge in terms of monetary value, are worth the time and effort.

So, it is with great pleasure that I can announce my very first blog giveaway! The promoters of the show, Twisted Thread have kindly offered, as a prize, a pair of tickets to the 2011 Knitting and Stitching Show! One lucky winner will receive two tickets that can be used either at their London show (6-9 October), or their Harrogate show (24-27 November).

The Knitting and Stitching Show

“The Knitting and Stitching Shows are the definitive and best exhibitions for lovers of textiles in the UK and Ireland.  As the name suggests, it covers knitting and stitching but SO much more; embroidery, felt-making, shibori dyeing, jewellery-making, card-making, mixed media… the list goes on! There is so much to see and do you’ll find it hard to fit everything into one day; hundreds of exhibitors selling specialist supplies that you can’t find in the shops, galleries from leading artists and groups, plus hundreds of workshops to introduce you to lots of new subjects!”

That’s the information given on the Twisted Thread website; sounds great, right? If you are into knitting, stitching, or crafts of any kind, this seems like the ideal place to be. Not only are there going to be lots of stalls where you can pick up supplies, there are workshops where you can pick up new ideas, or learn something new altogether!

Entering this competition couldn’t be easier. Just comment on this post, and tell me what your favourite crafting activity is (mine is knitting). Everyone who comments will be entered into the draw to win the tickets. Please include a way to contact you (email address or twitter username) so I can notify the winner.

For an extra entry, you can tweet the following: “Check out this competition to win 2 tickets to The Knitting and Stitching Show! @janeylambert #TwistedThread #WinLW” Please include an extra comment on this post confirming that you have done this.

– The competition is only open to UK residents

– The closing date for the competition is 12 Noon on 20th September 2011. Any entries received after this time will not be counted.

– The winner will be selected using an online randomizer ( or similar), and notified after the end of the competition. Tickets will be posted to the winner in time for the show.

That’s it! If you have any questions, please let me know!

  1. If I have to choose, then knitting is number one.
Having almost completed a bedspread, I am concentrating now on more portable projects like socks!
    Have tweeted this competition too.!

  2. I love to knit. It is so easy to pick up and put down if I only have a short time. I do enjoy sewing as well- but what a palaver getting the sewing machine out and then putting it away again so we can use the table.

  3. My favourite craft is knitting but I have just started jewellery-making and it is fast becoming a near competitor. I also have done a few other crafts i.e. cards making, embroidery, and even felting, tried crochet but i’m useless at it and my wrist aches (lol). I have recently bought some dye and intend to dye my own yarn. I suppose you can now understand why I love visiting The Knitting and Stitching Show at Alexandra Palace it’s paradise for me with everything under one roof! I leave with an empty purse and a credit card demagnetized! All being said and done, it is a good day out.

  4. My favourite crafting activity is knitting as the range of end products you can create is extensive but the cost is rarely expensive.
